· Backyard Fun Factory is primarily a Father and Son Business that was a dream of the Son, that was made possible by the Father, Jerry Jeffcoat. The Jeffcoat Family: Jerry, aka Dad, Davene, aka Mom, Laura, my oldest sister - Website designer, master of all things computer, and (mother of a SMU Student (on full academic Scholarship in engineering), Jana, (4’ 8” tall) mother of 4 girls, I refer to her as my “little, big sister.” She is always the clever entertaining prankster of our family. My two older sisters are still very jealous of me, because I am my mother’s baby at 38 years old. Finally, me, Jarrod, President of Backyard Fun Factory, and my wife Angie and 2 children, Jones (12) and Leah (9). Angie is a 2nd grade teacher in Trophy Club, Texas. We have all had some hand in shaping the business. My cousins, Gary Fugate is Sales Manager for BFF, and his son, Jeremy Fugate, is BFF Shop floor Manager and Quality Control Supervisor. All of our families were born and raised in the great state of Texas. With our play systems, we are working to help create childhood memories that will be passed on from our family to yours. |
· Do not be fooled by the price on a boxed swing set. When you buy a boxed swing set you are actually buying a series of boxes full of parts. Some of the most popular sets in the wholesale warehouse stores can have over 1500 parts. They are also made to be built on a level surface, how many yards are exactly level? The instructions are usually very complicated and hard to understand. Our installers very rarely can put a boxed system together in the 12 hour time frame that some stores estimate it will take to complete installation….. and we build them on a daily basis!
· QUALITY! There is a huge difference in quality that is very evident. One is built to sell and one is built to last. How many times have you bought a Chinese made product or off brand product because it will do the same job but cost a whole lot less? How many times have you been disappointed? · PRICE - Because there is no middle man we are able to deliver the highest quality product and service for the lowest price. All of the major product lines in our field buy from there distributor or manufacturer at wholesale margin and sell at the MSRP prices. In most cases these prices are obscenely inflated to leave room for big discount sales and promotions.
· DESIGN - Because we are the manufacturer of our products we can build a system that you want exactly. Most Retailers in our field sell for a big manufacturer and want to sell you what they have in stock. We build everything in house, so we work from a “clean sheet of paper,” when designing the perfect system for your family.
· QUALITY – We use California redwood for the floors walls and frame work, cypress on the roof and cabins, and a special grade of 4x6 Douglas Fir for limited cracking, warping, and superior strength on swing beams. We have used other kinds of wood and found this combination to work the best for longevity outdoors in the elements.
· BUILDING TECHNIQUES - We only use screws and bolts in the construction instead of nails. Our floors are screwed down from under side of the floor. This is slower process however the pot holes left by screw heads create splinters and fill with water and are hard on the knees of children. Deck ladders are made with pockets for each rung without blowing out splinters on the face of the ladder. We also use powder coated hand rails for added safety. We use gussets both directions on our forts for added strength and durability. Another advantage to our design is the play systems are bolted together, if you ever have to relocate, you do not have to tear up the boards taking it apart. We also offer moving service of the play system should you have to relocate.
· STAIN - We use a “water borne” UV protection non toxic stain that is applied by submerging each part for maximum penetration. We have no arsenic treated lumber. All edges of the parts are rounded for soft corners and bolt holes are countersunk where needed.
· IMAGINATION - Contour roofs and crooked windows are our trademark. They give a whimsical personality to our play systems. You can always spot our systems because of this “look.” The “Cookie Cutter” image is not very much fun!
· PERSONAL TOUCH - Custom Name Plates are free of charge with the purchase of a play system. This small token of our appreciation is one of the things that gives a play system personality.
· INSTALLATION & SERVICE - After money has changed hands and your decision has been made final, The installer that comes to your house will very likely be the same person that poured a little sweat into the building of the system in the factory. Not some contract labor handyman on the rolodex on a sales desk. If you make your purchase with our business, you are buying from craftsman not a salesman. Who would you rather call if you have a problem with your microwave oven?, The guy who sold it to you, or the person who created and built it. We do not leave you in the cold after you pay; our future depends on your satisfaction.
